George Milliken Specialist Wall Finishes have successfully completed hundreds of polished plaster contracts for both domestic and commercial customers throughout Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Edinburgh the rest of Scotland and the UK over the last 15 years.

Polished plaster is an ancient technique which was pioneered by the Egyptians and developed by the Romans. Polished plaster is durable, long lasting and easy to maintain and can transform an ordinary looking wall or ceiling into a masterpiece and can be used in any room within any property, including bathrooms and wet rooms. Polished Plaster is also known by many other terms such as Venetian plaster and Italian plaster but in the UK the general term is polished plaster.

Using specialist techniques, tools and materials our team of expert polished plasterers are able to create a wide range of luxurious custom finishes and bespoke colours designed to meet your exact style and specifications to the highest standards possible. These include gloss, silk, matt, smooth, stone and marble effects amongst others.

Smooth / Marmorino Stucco / Venetian Plaster - Used to create anything from a plain, lightly polished surface to a highly burred and marbleised effect.
Pitted - Grainy, lightly polished limestone used to create monolithic stone surfaces or a natural stone block.
Dragged - The dragged finish has the appearance of natural stone inspired by the patterns within weathered rock.
Colourwash - Pitted and dragged finishes can be further enhanced by the application of a colourwash which can include pearlescent and metallic glazes.
Spatulata / Stucco Lustro Veneziano / Lucidato - Provides a luxurious polished and glass like finish.
Travertine - Provides a light open texture similar to natural travertine stone with a low sheen which gives the impression of two or three separate tones running through the surface.
Armuralia - Available in a rainbow of colours with a silky smooth finish and subtle variations in tone.
Custom Finishes - Matched to your individual requirements

The application of corporate logos and graphic designs on walls demands the highest standards of craftsmanship and detail. George Milliken Specialist Wall Finishes are specialists in this field having successfully created numerous projects down the years. Circular curves or columns give the illusion of polished stone at a fraction of the cost of using natural stone. Large columns can even appear to be totally seamless, as if cut from a single piece of stone.
